SBI Clerk Junior Associate Recruitment 2026- Apply for 9000+ Vacancies
State Bank of India (SBI) has released the recruitment notification for Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre under Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17. A total of 9124 vacancies are available, including 7680 regular vacancies and 1444 backlog vacancies across various States and UTs. Eligible Indian citizens with graduation in any discipline can apply online from 11 August 2026 to 31 August 2026. Candidates can apply for vacancies in one State/UT only and must meet the specified local language requirement. The Preliminary Examination is tentatively scheduled for September 2026, while the Main Examination is expected in November 2026.

Candidates must be Indian citizens and must possess a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Candidates having an Integrated Dual Degree certificate must ensure that the date of passing is on or before 31 December 2026. Final-year or final-semester graduation candidates may apply provisionally, subject to producing proof of passing the graduation examination on or before 31 December 2026. The age should be between 20 and 28 years as on 01 April 2026, with applicable relaxation for eligible categories. Candidates must apply for vacancies in one State/UT only and should be proficient in the specified local language of the State/UT opted for.

The SBI Clerk selection process consists of an online Preliminary Examination, online Main Examination and a specified opted Local Language Proficiency Test where applicable. The Preliminary Examination carries 100 marks with 100 questions and a duration of 1 hour, divided into English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability with separate sectional timings. The Main Examination carries 200 marks with 190 questions and a duration of 2 hours 40 minutes. There is one-fourth negative marking for wrong answers in the objective tests. Preliminary marks are not added to the final merit list; final merit is based on Main Examination performance, subject to eligibility verification and qualifying the local language test where applicable.

State Bank of India has advertised a total of 9124 Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) vacancies, consisting of 7680 regular vacancies and 1444 backlog vacancies. The vacancies are distributed state-wise and category-wise across various SBI circles. Candidates can apply for vacancies in one State/UT only, and the merit list will be prepared State-wise and category-wise.

Selection will be conducted through Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Local Language Proficiency Test where applicable. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the Preliminary Examination based on aggregate marks, with approximately 10 times the number of vacancies being shortlisted subject to availability. Preliminary marks will not be added to the final merit list. Final selection will be based on Main Examination marks, verification of eligibility and qualification in the specified local language test where applicable. A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies will also be maintained State-wise and category-wise.

The SBI Junior Associate post carries a pay scale of Rs.24,050-1,340/3-28,070-1,650/3-33,020-2,000/4-41,020-2,340/7-57,400-4,400/1-61,800-2,680/1-64,480. The starting basic pay is Rs.26,730, including two advance increments admissible to graduates. Starting total emoluments at a metro such as Mumbai are around Rs.46,000 per month, including DA and other applicable allowances. Other benefits include provident fund, pension under the New Pension Scheme, medical, leave-fare and other facilities.

The application fee and intimation charge is Rs.750 for General, OBC and EWS candidates. SC, ST, PwBD, XS and DXS candidates are exempted from the application fee and intimation charge. The fee is non-refundable and can be paid online after registration through the prescribed payment modes.

Online registration and fee payment are open from 11 August 2026 to 31 August 2026. Candidates can apply for vacancies in one State/UT only and can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project. Candidates must be proficient in the specified local language of the opted State/UT. Candidates who studied the specified local language in 10th or 12th standard and produce the relevant marksheet/certificate will not be required to take the local language test. The Preliminary Examination is tentatively scheduled for September 2026 and the Main Examination for November 2026. No inter-State or inter-Circle transfer is available before completion of 5 years of service.

Candidates should keep proof of graduation or equivalent qualification, marksheets/certificates, valid photo identity proof, passport-size photographs, signature and category certificates where applicable. Candidates claiming OBC reservation must submit the prescribed Non-Creamy Layer certificate. EWS candidates must produce the prescribed Income and Asset Certificate.
