| Shortlisting Based on Academic Performance | Applications will be shortlisted based on normalized marks obtained in the qualifying degree. Normalization of marks will be done using the formula prescribed on the Join Indian Navy website. |
| Degree-wise Shortlisting Criteria | For BE/B.Tech candidates (completed or final year), marks obtained up to the 5th semester will be considered. For Postgraduate programmes (MSc/MCA/MBA/M.Tech), marks of all semesters will be considered; for final-year PG candidates, pre-final year performance will be taken into account. |
| SSB Interview Intimation | Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for the SSB Interview through registered email ID or SMS. Candidates must ensure their contact details remain active and regularly check inbox and spam folders. |
| Final Merit List | The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the SSB Interview, subject to availability of vacancies and candidates being declared medically fit. |
| Degree Proof Verification | Candidates selected in the final merit list must submit proof of completion of the qualifying degree with minimum 60% marks. Failure to meet this criterion will result in cancellation of candidature. |
| Medical Examination | Appointment is subject to clearing the induction medical examination conducted at INA, Ezhimala. |
| Training & Induction | Selected candidates will be inducted in the rank of Sub Lieutenant. Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Marriage during training will lead to discharge and recovery of training costs. |
| Bond & Withdrawal Conditions | Candidates who voluntarily withdraw during training or resign during the probation period will be required to refund the cost of training along with pay and allowances as determined by Government rules. |
