Supreme Court of India Law Clerk Recruitment 2026
The Supreme Court of India has released a notification for engagement of approximately 90 Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates on a short-term contractual basis for the assignment year 2026–27. The engagement is purely contractual with a consolidated remuneration of ₹1,00,000 per month. Online applications start from 20 January 2026 and the last date to apply is 7 February 2026.

| Educational Qualification | Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB or Integrated Law Degree) from a University/Institution recognized by the Bar Council of India. Final-year students of 5-year or 3-year law courses are also eligible, subject to acquiring the degree before joining. |
| Skills Requirement | Candidates must possess strong research and analytical skills, writing ability, and working knowledge of computers including legal research platforms such as SCC Online, Manupatra, LexisNexis, Westlaw, e-SCR, etc. |
| Part I – Objective Test | Multiple Choice Questions testing legal knowledge, application of law, and comprehension (online mode). |
| Part II – Subjective Test | Written examination to assess writing and analytical skills (pen-paper mode, questions displayed on computer). |
| Part III – Interview | Candidates qualifying written tests will be called for interview. |
| Negative Marking | 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in Part I. |
