Rajasthan State Eligibility Test (SET) 2026
The University of Kota has released the Rajasthan State Eligibility Test (SET) 2026 notification for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors in colleges and universities across Rajasthan. Candidates must possess a Master's Degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university with at least 55% marks for General/EWS category and 50% marks for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD and Third Gender candidates. Candidates appearing in the final year of their postgraduate degree are also eligible to apply provisionally. Applicants should appear in the SET subject corresponding to their post-graduation discipline. There is no upper age limit for Rajasthan SET 2026.

Rajasthan SET 2026 will consist of two objective-type papers conducted in a single session. Paper-I will contain 50 questions carrying 100 marks and assess teaching aptitude, reasoning, comprehension and research aptitude. Paper-II will contain 100 subject-specific questions carrying 200 marks. The total examination will be of 300 marks with a duration of 3 hours. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Rajasthan SET 2026 does not offer any salary as it is an eligibility examination. Candidates qualifying the SET become eligible to apply for Assistant Professor positions in Rajasthan colleges and universities. The application fee for Rajasthan SET 2026 is Rs. 1500 for General, SBC and OBC Creamy Layer candidates of Rajasthan and other states. EWS, OBC Non-Creamy Layer and SBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates of Rajasthan are required to pay Rs. 1200. SC, ST and PwD candidates of Rajasthan need to pay Rs. 750. The fee must be paid online during the application process.

The Rajasthan SET certificate will remain valid for a lifetime and is applicable only within Rajasthan State. There is no age limit for appearing in the examination. Candidates must carefully select the subject corresponding to their postgraduate qualification. The examination will be conducted in offline mode using OMR sheets and there is no negative marking. Final-year postgraduate students can apply provisionally subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions within the prescribed time period.
