OSSSC Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026

Candidates must have passed +2 and possess a Diploma in GNM or B.Sc Nursing from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. Applicants must also hold a valid Registration or Renewal Certificate from the Odisha Nursing Council and be able to read, write and speak Odia.

The written examination will consist of 100 MCQ questions carrying 100 marks. The paper includes Nursing subjects, Practical Skills, Arithmetic and English. The duration of the examination will be 2 hours and a negative marking of 0.25 marks will apply for every incorrect answer.

OSSSC has announced 5989 Nursing Officer vacancies under district cadre establishments of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha. Vacancies are distributed across all 30 districts with reservation for SC, ST, SEBC, Women, Ex-Servicemen, Sportspersons and PwD candidates.

Selection will be based on performance in the written examination followed by document verification. Candidates securing the prescribed qualifying marks will be shortlisted in merit order for district allocation and final appointment.

Selected candidates will receive pay in Level-8 of ORSP Rules, 2017 with a salary scale of Rs.29,200 to Rs.92,300 along with admissible allowances and benefits as per Odisha Government rules.

Candidates belonging to General, SEBC and other non-exempted categories must pay an examination fee of Rs.500. SC, ST and PwD candidates are exempted from payment of examination fee.

Applicants should keep Nursing Council registration certificates, educational qualification certificates, mark sheets, caste certificates, disability certificates, Odia language proof, photograph and signature ready while filling the online application form.
